LUBBOCK, Texas \u2013 Texas Tech used another eight-run inning \u2013 this time in the third \u2013 Sunday to move past Ole Miss and into the NCAA Super Regional round for second-consecutive season after a 14-2 run-rule victory at Tracy Sellers Field.<\/p>\n
The Red Raiders improved to 6-0 in NCAA Regional games in Lubbock and recorded a program-best 55th win after dominating the Rebels. Mihyia Davis<\/a> set a new program record for stolen bases in a season with 37. Tech’s 11 runs were the most in a postseason game and the 12 run differential was also a new program record. Gerry Glasco<\/a> moved to 12-2 in postseason as the Red Raiders head coach, making him the winningest postseason coach in program history.<\/p>\n How it Happened:

\nThe Red Raiders (55-6) broke open a 2-0 lead with eight runs in the top half of the third, matching their total from Saturday’s memorable comeback with two outs in the seventh. Texas Tech went on to top the Rebels, 10-9, in eight innings, setting up Sunday’s rematch following the largest come-from-behind win in recent NCAA postseason history.

\nJackie Lis<\/a> drove in five runs to lead the Red Raiders, plating the first two runs in the second with a two-out RBI single down the right field line. She sent a two-run single up the middle as part of Texas Tech’s big third inning, pushing the Red Raiders’ lead to 8-0 at the time. Lis, who had a key home run early in Texas Tech’s seventh-inning rally the day before, finished 2-for-4 at the plate with an RBI groundout in the fourth.

\nMihyia Davis<\/a> ignited the big third inning with a RBI single to left field and later came around herself on one of two run-scoring wild pitches in the inning. Davis came back to the plate to cap the third with a sacrifice fly for Texas Tech’s eighth and final run in the inning. Mia Williams<\/a> and Kaitlyn Terry<\/a> both added RBI singles prior to that point, sending Ole Miss to its bullpen twice in the inning.

\nDavis finished 3-for-3 at the plate with two RBI and three runs scored, sparking a middle part of the Texas Tech lineup that combined for 11 hits between its 2-6 spots. Besides Lis and Davis, Jasmyn Burns<\/a>, Taylor Pannell<\/a> and Terry were all 2-for-4 on the day with four runs scored between the trio. \u00a0

\nFor Terry, it helped her cause in the circle, pushing the left-hander to her second win of the weekend. Terry (24-1) gave up only two runs on two hits \u2013 a Kennedy Bunker home run in the bottom half of the third and a Cassie Reasner RBI double later in the frame \u2013 all while striking out three in 4.0 complete innings. \u00a0

\nTerry’s other mainstay in the circle, NiJaree Canady<\/a>, sparked the Red Raiders at the plate with a pinch hit two-run double in the fifth. Canady moved to the circle early in the fifth, tossing a shutout final inning, capped with a pair of strikeouts.
