Construction for House of Pies&#8217; newest location is scheduled to begin next week and wrap up in mid-October. As always, don&#8217;t take that as an opening date.<\/p>\n<p>House of Pies hasn&#8217;t formally announced the expansion. Chron has reached out for more details. We will update this story if and when we hear back.<\/p>\n<p>Since serving its first slices in Houston more than 50 years ago, House of Pies has grown into one of the most iconic fixtures of the city&#8217;s food scene. The very <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chron.com\/food\/article\/houston-house-of-pies-history-19526217.php\" data-link=\"native\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">first House of Pies<\/a>, launched by IHOP founder Al Lapin Jr., actually opened in California in 1965.
