{"id":299844,"date":"2026-05-19T15:17:27","date_gmt":"2026-05-19T15:17:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/299844\/"},"modified":"2026-05-19T15:17:27","modified_gmt":"2026-05-19T15:17:27","slug":"students-await-corrected-act-results-following-reported-scoring-issues","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/299844\/","title":{"rendered":"Students await corrected ACT results following reported scoring issues"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text | article-text\">(Gray News) &#8211; Students whose ACT exams were incorrectly scored should have their corrected scores in by June, officials said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">According to Juan Elizondo, head of strategic communications for ACT, students who took the spring ACT online during the school day may have been affected by a scoring issue. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Elizondo noted that the students\u2019 scores may stay the same or go up slightly, but will not go down.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The majority of the students affected were juniors or younger, Elizondo said. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Seniors could request that their corrected scores be automatically sent to colleges and scholarship committees.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cWe\u2019ve done very quick, careful work to make sure seniors have the revised scores they need for graduation, college enrollment and scholarships,\u201d Elizondo said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The issue, he said, was caught as part of ongoing quality assurance processes that happen to make sure tests get scored accurately.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cAs scores continued to roll in, we saw variations and unexpected outcomes that didn\u2019t align with what we expected,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">States and school districts were notified starting on May 11.
