North Texas\u2019 largest culinary event has now raised more than $13 million for local nonprofits<\/p>\n
One of North Texas\u2019 most anticipated dining traditions is marking a major milestone this year. DFW Restaurant Week is celebrating its 30th anniversary this summer, continuing a decades-long tradition that blends fine dining with charitable giving across the Metroplex.<\/p>\n
Since launching in 1996, the event has raised more than $13 million, benefiting North Texas Food Bank and Lena Pope, according to organizers.<\/p>\n
A North Texas Dining Tradition<\/p>\n
DFW Restaurant Week has grown into the region\u2019s largest annual culinary event and the second-longest-running restaurant week campaign in the country. Each summer, participating restaurants offer prix fixe lunch, brunch and dinner menus, with a portion of proceeds donated to charity partners serving communities across North Texas.<\/p>\n
Last year alone, the event generated more than $681,000 in charitable contributions, helping support hunger relief programs, counseling services, educational resources and family assistance initiatives throughout the region.<\/p>\n
According to organizers:<\/p>\n
\n\t$505,235 benefited North Texas Food Bank
\n\t$176,092 benefited Lena Pope
<\/p>\n
More than 150 restaurants participated across Dallas, Collin, Denton and Tarrant counties.<\/p>\n
Plano Restaurants Among Top Fundraisers<\/p>\n
Several Collin County restaurants were recognized among this year\u2019s top fundraising participants.<\/p>\n
In the Dallas-area rankings, Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse earned one of the event\u2019s top Star Restaurant honors, while Steve Fields Steakhouse and Del Frisco’s Grille were also recognized for their fundraising efforts.<\/p>\n
The top overall Dallas-area fundraising restaurant for the second consecutive year was Pappas Bros. Steakhouse.<\/p>\n
More Than Just Dining<\/p>\n
While the event is known for upscale meals and sought-after reservations, its broader mission centers around community impact.<\/p>\n
Funds raised through DFW Restaurant Week help provide meals for families facing food insecurity and support mental health, education and behavioral services for children and families across North Texas.<\/p>\n

When DFW Restaurant Week Returns<\/p>\n
The 30th annual DFW Restaurant Week officially begins August 10 and runs through Labor Day on September 7 at participating restaurants. Many locations will also take part in Preview Weekend from August 6 through 9.<\/p>\n
