A man drove his Cybertruck into a lake in Texas on Monday. Grapevine Police Department<\/p>\n
The driver and his passenger made it a few feet into the lake before they appeared to strike one of the shore\u2019s many sizable rocks. The two men tumbled clumsily out of the passenger side window and waded over to a nearby dock, according to the video.<\/p>\n
The Grapevine Police Department<\/a> said that the truck \u201cbecame disabled\u201d moments into the driver\u2019s short-lived seafaring attempt.<\/p>\n The driver, who wasn\u2019t publicly identified, admitted he \u201cintentionally\u201d steered his vehicle into the lake to \u201cto use the Cybertruck\u2019s \u2018Wade Mode\u2019 feature,\u201d according to the police department.<\/p>\n Wade Mode is one of the Cybertruck\u2019s four off-road features. It is supposed to work in shallow bodies of water, including rivers, but does not activate automatically, according to the owner\u2019s manual<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cWe want to remind drivers that although a vehicle may be physically capable of entering shallow freshwater areas, doing so can create legal and safety concerns under Texas law,\u201d the police department said.<\/p>\n Authorities used a crane to hoist the waterlogged Cybertruck out of the lake later that night.<\/p>\n
