Corpus Christi, TX \u2013 Corpus Christi Water (CCW) today announced that the projected date for a Level 1 Water Emergency has been revised from September 2026 to December 2026.\u00a0 <\/p>\n
This reflects improved water supply conditions. The projected date of a Level One Water Emergency is when the water supply is projected to be 180 days away from meeting demand.\u00a0 <\/p>\n
Several factors have contributed to the improved outlook:<\/p>\n
\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Groundwater Production: Wells under the Nueces Groundwater Program continue to operate with new wells coming online.\u00a0 <\/p>\n
\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Reservoir Levels: Recent beneficial rainfall has increased storage levels at Choke Canyon Reservoir and Lake Corpus Christi.<\/p>\n
\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Lake Texana: The Lavaca-Navidad River Authority (LNRA) revised its estimate for when Lake Texana will fall below the 40% threshold that triggers a 20% curtailment, pushing that timeline to later in the year.<\/p>\n
\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Effluent Reuse: Delivery schedules for various effluent reuse projects have seen slight improvement.<\/p>\n
