MESA, Ariz.\u00a0\u2013 Utah Tech held UT Arlington scoreless through nine innings in a 4-0 WAC Tournament first-round decision Wednesday at Hohokam Stadium. The Mavericks drop to 19-31 on the season and move to the elimination bracket.<\/p>\n
The Trailblazers built their lead with two runs in the fourth and one in the fifth, taking advantage of a pair of UTA errors. Utah Tech added an insurance run in the eighth to close out the shutout. The Mavericks managed just four hits on the day and went 0-for-1 with runners in scoring position.<\/p>\n
