The average new-home price was steady month over month at $403,001.  <\/p>\n<p>Pending sales also increased, with 1,935 new homes going under contract, up from 1,796 in March. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cApril brought Houston a much-needed rebound for new-home and pending sales \u2026 in line with spring\u2019s cyclical expectations,\u201d HomesUSA.com <a href=\"https:\/\/houstonagentmagazine.com\/2026\/03\/20\/homesusa-new-home-sales-feb-2026\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">CEO Ben Caballero<\/a> said in a press release. \u201cHouston builders are seeing improved buyer activity, but the market is still working through higher inventory and longer selling times. The good news is that demand is moving in the right direction.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Active listings declined slightly, with 15,652 total new homes on the market in April.
