South Jetty photo<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re out shopping for supplies for the Memorial Day weekend at Lowe\u2019s Market, you might consider donating to the Moore McDonald VFW Post 8967.<\/p>\n<p>Members of the post and Auxiliary to the Post will have a table set up in the lobby collecting donations and giving away American flags.<\/p>\n<p>Post and auxiliary members will be on hand from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Friday to Sunday, May 22 through 24.<\/p>\n<p>The funds raised during the weekend will be split between the post members and the auxiliary to the post for their programs.<\/p>\n<p>Post members will use the money collected for the annual Care and Share Christmas Dinner Program. Auxiliary members will use the funds to benefit their various programs.<\/p>\n<p>Every year since 1991, the Care and Share Program has given gift cards to Port Aransans in need to purchase the makings for their Christmas dinners.<\/p>\n<p>At Christmas in 2025, the post gave gift cards for Christmas dinners to 125 individuals and families. <\/p>\n<p>Also, until Sunday, May 31, shoppers may add money to their total purchases at the checkouts.
