(WKYT) &#8211; Lexington Sporting Club is one win from the first championship in the club\u2019s women\u2019s history after a 2-0 victory over Dallas Trinity FC on Saturday night.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Sarah Griffith scored in the 40th minute and Catherine Barry added a second-half goal as Lexington controlled play early, putting five shots on target in the first half while holding Dallas without one.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Griffith opened the scoring when she gathered a loose ball after a corner kick and struck from outside the penalty area.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cI think off a corner, my role is to be at the top of the box and get any ball that comes out,\u201d Griffith said. \u201cBefore the goal, I made an attempt, and I knew that it could come back to me, so I tried to put it away, and I did that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Barry made it 2-0 in the 51st, finishing a service from Alyssa Bourgeois for her 17th goal of the season.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Goalkeeper Kat Asman made four saves for her league-leading 12th clean sheet as Lexington advanced to the Gainbridge Super League final.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Head coach Kosuke Kimura said he was pleased with how his team handled the moment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cThe composure was off the wall,\u201d Kimura said. \u201cThere was a lot of pressure with it being the playoffs \u2026 but the team as a whole was so brave.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Defender Allison Pantuso said the win reflected the group\u2019s season-long belief.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cI am so proud of this team,\u201d Pantuso said. \u201cWe have been building and have known in us since the beginning of the season we could do this.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Lexington will host the championship match Saturday, May 30, at 7 p.m. ET at Lexington SC Stadium against the winner of Sunday\u2019s semifinal between Sporting Club JAX and Carolina Ascent FC.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"link | text-reset d-block h-100 w-100\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wkyt.com\/page\/wkyt-apps-for-ios-and-android-devices\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_self\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" alt=\"WKYT Streaming Apps\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/MEPHTWNVMREWLEQQWWFJM27ZMA.png\" width=\"980\" height=\"199\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 WKYT.
