EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14\/CBS4) \u2014 On Saturday, May 23, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched at 11:43 a.m. to Loop 375 East at Transmountain for a call regarding a serious motor vehicle crash.<\/p>\n

When they arrived, deputies located a crash involving a motorcycle with serious injuries and requested assistance from the Sheriff’s Office Special Traffic Investigators (STI).<\/p>\n

The eastbound lanes of Loop 375 at Transmountain were closed due to the collision, according to the Texas Department of Transportation.<\/p>\n

Preliminary findings of the investigation revealed that while the motorcyclist was exiting a right-hand curve traveling eastbound, they failed to negotiate a subsequent left-hand curve and crashed into a traffic sign pole.<\/p>\n

The motorcyclist was thrown off the motorcycle and was transported to a hospital with severe injuries.<\/p>\n

Traffic was being redirected to avoid the closure while law enforcement was on scene.<\/p>\n

According to El Paso Sheriff officials, the investigation remains ongoing.<\/p>\n
