(KOAA) \u2014 Several viewers recently reached out to News5 about speeding and unsafe driving on Baptist Road, located east of I-25 in northern El Paso County. <\/p>\n<p>One of the viewers is Dan O\u2019Reilly. He says he has lived near Baptist Road and Longmeadow Lane for more than 20 years. He recalls a quieter neighborhood when he moved in February 2000.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was very quiet\u2026,\u201d said O\u2019Reilly. <\/p>\n<p>Now, he says, speeding has become a serious issue.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey need better enforcement. I don\u2019t care who it is. Over the last several years, people have just gone nuts with traffic. They\u2019re bad drivers,\u201d said O&#8217;Reilly. <\/p>\n<p>He also expressed concerns about blind spots along the road.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are blind corners here. If you\u2019re going by really fast, there are times when you\u2019re not going to know somebody is in front of you,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>The Colorado State Patrol (CSP) confirms multiple agencies share coverage of Baptist Road, including themselves, the Monument Police Department and the El Paso County Sheriff\u2019s Office. CSP troopers handle most crash investigations along this stretch.<\/p>\n<p>Looking at crash data from CSP between I-25 and Tari Drive, there have been fewer than 10 crashes each year since 2021. Some of these incidents were linked to excessive speed.<\/p>\n<p>A breakdown of those numbers is below:<\/p>\n<p>2021<br \/>five property damage crashes2022<br \/>five property damage crashesone minor injury crashone serious injury crash2023<br \/>three property damage crashes2024<br \/>six property damage crashesone minor injury crash2025<br \/>four property damage crashesone fatal crash<\/p>\n<p>This year, as of May 20, there have been three property damage crashes and one serious injury crash.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSomebody could get killed or hurt.
