Plano City Council voted Tuesday 8-0 to approve a zoning change allowing a stealth antenna in the proposed tower and public plaza at the AT&T site.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, May 26, Plano City Council<\/a> voted 8-0 to approve zoning changes for a more than 200-foot tower and plaza for the new AT&T headquarters<\/a> at Legacy Drive and Parkwood Boulevard at the old EDS site.<\/p>\n The area required a planned development (PD) designation in order for the tower to contain stealth antennas.<\/p>\n At the City Council meeting, Director of Planning Christina Day discussed amendments to the original design plan that were made due to public concerns, including an amendment to City Code that requires that \u201cThe structure will not employ flashing, strobing, rotating, or chasing light effects between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., except as required by the FAA.\u201d<\/p>\n Though there may be minor changes to the design later, the major elements of the above rendering will remain.<\/p>\n
