The new building is the first permanent structure that has been added to the campus since 2002.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt gives us [the] capacity to serve more students, to better support our teachers and to operate with more flexibility in how the school runs every day,\u201d board member Temaria Davis said.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" height=\"800\" src=\"https:\/\/communityimpact.com\/uploads\/images\/2026\/05\/26\/425888.jpg\" class=\"include_body\" onerror=\"this.src=\" width=\"1200\"\/>Austin Waldorf School&#8217;s previous handwork art classroom. (Sienna Wight\/Community Impact)Some context<\/p>\n<p>Austin Waldorf School is the only fully accredited pre-K-12 Waldorf program in Texas, according to the school\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.austinwaldorf.org\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">website<\/a>. Waldorf education is developmentally informed, experiential and it integrates the arts in all academic disciplines, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.waldorfeducation.org\/what-is-waldorf-education\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Association of Waldorf Schools of North America<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The new classrooms support the school\u2019s Master Plan, which outlines goals to prioritize outdoor spaces for new buildings and to grow the campus to support enrollment growth.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe goal &#8230; is to provide a Waldorf education to as many kids as we can,\u201d Site Committee Chair Branson Fustes said at the ribbon cutting.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;&gt;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Austin Waldorf School is expanding campus facilities for the first time in more than 20 years.
