It’s playoff time, and Calallen<\/a> had no trouble coming through when it counted. They put the hurt on the Davenport Wolves<\/a> with a sharp 16-6 win on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won 28 games by six runs or more so far this season.<\/p>\n Aiden Gonzalez<\/a> looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. What’s more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he’s had since back in March.<\/p>\n At the plate, Drayson Gamez<\/a> was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ian Garcia<\/a>, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.<\/p>\n Calallen has been performing incredibly well recently as they’ve won 27 of their last 28 matchups. That’s provided a nice bump to their 36-2 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 10 runs. As for Davenport, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 18-10-2.<\/p>\n Looking ahead, Calallen will face off against Bullard on the 30th. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Wildcats 1.4, the Panthers 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned. Davenport does not have any more games scheduled as of now.<\/p>\n
