PLANO, Texas \u2014 Plano\u2019s skyline could be changing. A major piece of AT&T\u2019s move from Dallas to Plano is moving forward after Plano leaders approved plans tied to the\u00a0company\u2019s future headquarters campus<\/a>.<\/p>\n The Plano City Council on Tuesday unanimously approved rezoning for a 1.4-acre tract at the southeast corner of Legacy Drive and Parkwood Boulevard, clearing the way for a planned tower that could rise as high as 280 feet as part of AT&T\u2019s new campus<\/a>.<\/p>\n The approved agenda item establishes development standards for a plaza featuring a sculptural structure that incorporates \u201cstealth commercial antennas.\u201d The tower also would be topped with AT&T\u2019s logo.<\/p>\n City documents tied to the project include restrictions on lighting. The structure will not use flashing, strobing, rotating or chasing light effects between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m., except as required by the Federal Aviation Administration.<\/p>\n The tower is one component of AT&T\u2019s broader plans for its new 54-acre global headquarters campus at 5400 Legacy Drive in Plano. The project is part of AT&T\u2019s previously announced move out of downtown Dallas.<\/p>\n Plans for the new headquarters include at least 2 million square feet of office, retail and amenity space. A pedestrian bridge across Parkwood Boulevard is also proposed, creating a connection between the campus plaza and the Shops at Legacy to the west.<\/p>\n
