Additionally, the number of signed leases increased by about 9.7%.<\/p>\n<p>As for average lease prices, costs eased slightly by about 2.6% compared to last April, with the average lease price totaling $2,274 in 2026, the report shows.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/1779903325_704_thumbnail.jpeg\" width=\"100%\" alt=\"table visualization\"\/>Another detail<\/p>\n<p>The number of new listings for townhomes and condominiums rose 4.3% from 1,031 properties in April 2025 to 1,075 in April 2026, but leasing activity for that market held steady over the past year, according to the data.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, the average lease price for condos and townhomes in Greater Houston increased slightly from $1,995 to $2,020 per month, with properties staying on the market seven days longer on average compared to the same time last year.<\/p>\n<p>Quote of note<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re continuing to see a healthy rental market across Houston,&#8221; HAR Chair Theresa Hill said in a statement. &#8220;Renters have more homes to choose from right now, and that&#8217;s helping create a little more breathing room when it comes to pricing and decision making.
