{"id":311386,"date":"2026-05-27T21:23:13","date_gmt":"2026-05-27T21:23:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/311386\/"},"modified":"2026-05-27T21:23:13","modified_gmt":"2026-05-27T21:23:13","slug":"fort-bend-isd-to-host-2-bus-driver-hiring-events","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/311386\/","title":{"rendered":"Fort Bend ISD to host 2 bus driver hiring events"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\tFort Bend ISD\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fortbendisd.com\/Domain\/68\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Transportation Department <\/a>will hold two hiring events for bus drivers and bus driver trainees in June, district officials announced in a May 26 news release.<\/p>\n<p>The hiring fairs come after FBISD officials recommended spending $1.7 million of the 2026-27 budget on increasing starting pay, monitor pay and sign-on bonuses for bus drivers and monitors due to the district having trouble filling those roles, <a href=\"https:\/\/communityimpact.com\/houston\/sugar-land-missouri-city\/education\/2026\/05\/18\/fort-bend-isd-yearly-tax-bill-expected-to-decrease-by-84\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Community Impact<\/a> previously reported.<\/p>\n<p>What you need to know<\/p>\n<p>The two hiring events will be held at a district transportation center from 8- 11 a.m. on their respective days including:<\/p>\n<p>June 3 at the FBISD Hodges Bend Transportation CenterJune 10 at the FBISD Lake Olympia Transportation Center<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;&gt;<\/p>\n<p>The details<\/p>\n<p>Fort Bend ISD offers bus drivers a starting pay of $20.41 an hour, while bus driver trainees start at $15.71 an hour, per the release.
