The 11th rain event this month is expected to come together tonight.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Central Texas is under a Flood Watch from now until 8 a.m. on Wednesday, May 27.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has also been issued by the National Weather Service until 9 p.m. tonight.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">A Flash Flood Warning has been issued for Williamson, Blanco and Burnet counties until midnight.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Why you should care<\/p>\n<p><img alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"960\" height=\"540\" decoding=\"async\" data-nimg=\"1\" class=\"rounded-lg\" style=\"color:transparent\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/d116d682d440c26547f737d193885dd3.jpeg\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">An upper low coming out of New Mexico will help push a line of storms into Central Texas tonight.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">There will be enough moisture and lift to keep the storms alive.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The severe risk will be minimal, but the flooding threat will be slightly higher.<\/p>\n<p><img alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"960\" height=\"540\" decoding=\"async\" data-nimg=\"1\" class=\"rounded-lg\" style=\"color:transparent\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/b16a0d9876e0799e02e6df85c5570ea0.jpeg\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Unlikely to see tornadoes and large hail but strong winds, lightning and heavy rain are possible.<\/p>\n<p><img alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"960\" height=\"540\" decoding=\"async\" data-nimg=\"1\" class=\"rounded-lg\" style=\"color:transparent\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/0307ebbc9d0274115f347acaf50ccfb3.jpeg\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">There is FLOOD WATCH in effect from the Western Hill Country to the Concho Valley.<\/p>\n<p><img alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"960\" height=\"540\" decoding=\"async\" data-nimg=\"1\" class=\"rounded-lg\" style=\"color:transparent\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/89cec5e18bd71f7dd461d43fbac45a68.jpeg\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">This means watch out with the ground be saturated and more heavy rain in the forecast we could see localized flooding in the low-lying areas.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">On average, much of the area will receive half to one inch of rain with some spots getting 1 to 2&#8243;.<\/p>\n<p><img alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"960\" height=\"540\" decoding=\"async\" data-nimg=\"1\" class=\"rounded-lg\" style=\"color:transparent\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/c8abb330c46d7b0157d5f7378bc5c57d.jpeg\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Timeline<\/p>\n<p><img alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"960\" height=\"540\" decoding=\"async\" data-nimg=\"1\" class=\"rounded-lg\" style=\"color:transparent\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/418ff9f1a3624ec5c286bda2c76b3f8e.jpeg\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The line of storms will enter the Hill Country first between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The storms will then be sliding into the Austin Metro and I-35 corridor between 10 p.m. and midnight.<\/p>\n<p><img alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"960\" height=\"540\" decoding=\"async\" data-nimg=\"1\" class=\"rounded-lg\" style=\"color:transparent\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/922a2742b7253ca98200ca6afe362495.jpeg\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Ponding on the roads and minor street flooding are possible.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">What&#8217;s next<\/p>\n<p><img alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"960\" height=\"540\" decoding=\"async\" data-nimg=\"1\" class=\"rounded-lg\" style=\"color:transparent\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/2bafe38859bf64b2a786d38c667d3d51.jpeg\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Drying out and heating up for the second half of the week.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The next rain machine is coming into a view late in the weekend.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">If you factor in the two storm systems much of the area could get 1.5 to 2.5&#8243;
