LUBBOCK, Texas (NEWS RELEASE) – Catholic Charities of Lubbock will host its 3rd Annual Run to Remember, a family friendly 5K run\/walk, in remembrance of our neighbors on the South Plains who are experiencing poverty, homelessness, hunger, crisis, and trauma.<\/p>\n
The event is proudly sponsored by TXU Energy and will begin at 8 a.m. on Saturday, June 20th, at Catholic Charities (102 Avenue J).<\/p>\n
The route will pass through Lubbock\u2019s historic Guadalupe Neighborhood, Aztlan Park, and Mackenzie Park.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re proud to support Catholic Charities of Lubbock and the Run to Remember, which reflects the strength and compassion of the South Plains community,\u201d said Meranda Cohn, TXU Energy\u2019s vice president of corporate affairs.<\/p>\n
\u201cSince arriving in Lubbock, TXU Energy has partnered with Catholic Charities to provide critical assistance to individuals and families facing challenging circumstances, and we\u2019re honored to help shine a light on their work and those they serve.\u201d<\/p>\n
Run to Remember is a family-friendly event open to all ages and fitness levels.<\/p>\n
The 5K is $40 per individual or $300 for a team of up to eight.<\/p>\n
A t-shirt, timing bib, and medal of completion is included in the cost of the registration for 5K participants.<\/p>\n
All participants will be required to complete a registration and release form.<\/p>\n
