Severe weather<\/a>\u00a0season is in full swing across Texas. As communities recover from tornado warnings, hail and flooding rains<\/a>, another storm system could bring renewed storm chances to parts of the state. While the weekend may be sunny and hot, rain and thunderstorm chances could return by next week.<\/p>\n

By Tuesday, June 2, most of the Lone Star State will begin to see storm odds creep up again. It\u2019ll be coupled with a cooldown in afternoon highs, with midweek highs dipping by nearly 10 degrees in some cases.<\/p>\n

In the Texas Panhandle, in towns from Dalhart to Amarillo, it\u2019s shaping up to be another full week of thunderstorms.<\/p>\n

\u201cTowards next work week, moisture has an increasing chance to work its way back across the southern plains. This would lead to the return of daily chances for rain showers and thunderstorms each afternoon of each day,\u201d the National Weather Service Amarillo<\/a> office reports.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s a roughly 30% to 40% chance of thunderstorms<\/a> across the region from Tuesday through the workweek. Highs are expected to dip into the low 80s after a weekend in the 90s. These conditions could bring a brief cooldown as summer begins.<\/p>\n

While storms early in the week aren\u2019t expected to become severe, another broader system could develop as next weekend approaches.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are some hints that a weather system can form late next week, which opens up an opportunity for more organized thunderstorms,\u201d the national agency warns.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a similar story for North Texas, including the greater Dallas-Fort Worth area<\/a>, as rain and storm chances increase early in the workweek. Cloud cover and cooler air moving in could drop highs into the mid- to upper 80s next week after a hotter weekend in the mid-90s.<\/p>\n

But the National Weather Service local office warns some of these storms could produce hail or strong wind gusts.<\/p>\n

\u201cSevere weather is not expected at this time, though there will be enough instability to support a strong thunderstorm or two capable of gusty winds and\/or small hail,\u201d the NWS Dallas-Fort Worth<\/a> office says.<\/p>\n

In South-Central Texas,<\/a> shower and thunderstorm chances are also expected to continue next week. But it\u2019ll certainly start to feel like summer. Temperatures are forecast to hover in the upper 80s as humidity levels climb.<\/p>\n

Low-end rain chances, around 20%, remain in the forecast through much of the week, while Gulf moisture and the sea breeze may keep isolated storms possible.<\/p>\n

\u201cUncertainty in the forecast increases entering midweek as the pattern will try to transition towards ridging once again but signs of some gulf moisture (perhaps associated with the sea breeze) may keep daily low end chances in play across portions of the region,\u201d the National Weather Service Austin-San Antonio<\/a> office stated in its forecast.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Severe weather\u00a0season is in full swing across Texas.
