This came across my Facebook feed and it\u2019s a stunner.<\/p>\n
The Lubbock Police Department Facebook page gave an alleged road rager a complete dress-down on social media. In fact, the beatdown may have been worse than the crime. Okay, that\u2019s a stretch, but I\u2019d certainly hold this up as a warning to other Lubbock drivers \u2014 LPD isn\u2019t having none of it. In fact, they didn\u2019t even use the word \u201calleged.\u201d They pretty much just called this guy out.<\/p>\n
It All Starts With A Merge<\/p>\n
It all starts with a merge.<\/p>\n
You see, merging is one of those things that some Lubbock drivers simply do not understand. To complicate things even more, many drivers here also struggle with zipper merging.<\/p>\n
You probably shouldn\u2019t be riding in the right lane to begin with, but if you are, it\u2019s the considerate thing to either slow down or speed up a little to let a car coming from the on-ramp merge into traffic. Visualize the teeth of a zipper slowly interlocking and you\u2019ll get the concept.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s My Lane\u201d Syndrome<\/p>\n
Sadly, more than a few folks here in the Hub City seem to have an attitude that says:
\u201cIt\u2019s my lane, I was here first, and I\u2019m going to pretend I don\u2019t see you.\u201d<\/p>\n
It\u2019s ridiculous, and one day when some of these folks have to drive in a much larger city, they\u2019re going to find themselves on the wrong end of some serious road rage.<\/p>\n
LPD Went All Out On This One<\/p>\n
So back to our \u201cbad driver du jour.\u201d<\/p>\n
I\u2019ve seen little inklings of this kind of messaging from the Lubbock Police Department before, but they really went all out on this one.<\/p>\n
The tone of the post was blunt, direct, and honestly pretty entertaining. At the same time, it also got the message across loud and clear.<\/p>\n
