Viola\u00a0Casares, Petra Mata and other bold women coordinated\u00a0Fuerza Unida, which protested Levi Strauss Co. relocating to Costa Rica in order to pay women there cheaper wages.<\/p>\n San Antonio\u2019s women union organizers, activists and workers deserve the community\u2019s recognition for the contributions they have made to the labor movement in San Antonio.<\/p>\n Our community should have input in renaming Cesar E. Chavez Boulevard for San Antonio\u2019s own women union organizers.<\/p>\n Article continues below this ad<\/p>\n Still hope in November<\/p>\n In the runoff for the Republican Party\u2019s nomination for U.S. Senate between U.S. Sen. John\u00a0Cornyn and Texas Attorney General Ken\u00a0Paxton, Republicans again have expressed their preference for impeached, adulterous,\u00a0grifter candidates to fill a statewide office.<\/p>\n While I am not surprised, I hope the electorate will make better decisions come November when\u00a0Paxton will face Texas state Rep. Are these the kind of people we want representing our country to the world?<\/p>\n I\u2019m ashamed for our country, which continues to put these people in charge.<\/p>\n Article continues below this ad<\/p>\n Iran another mistake\u00a0<\/p>\n It has now been three months since President Donald Trump blundered into his war with Iran.<\/p>\n No one has heard any coherent, verifiable justification for the conflict, except the continuously repeated\u00a0statement that we cannot allow Iran to have a nuclear\u00a0weapon.<\/p>\n Some of us remember when President George\u00a0W.
