Fredericksburg is known for its cozy small-town vibe<\/a>s, old-world German charm and one-of-a-kind wineries<\/a>. Located just 70 miles north of San Antonio, the tiny Hill Country town has attracted record numbers of tourists and upscale developers in recent years.\u00a0<\/p>\n From a dynastic, storied hotels brand to a forthcoming restaurant headed by a Michelin star chef \u2014 and multiple luxury retail districts currently in the works \u2014 the tiny town, already loved by millions, is in the middle of an extremely extravagant glow up. They will also bring over five food and beverage concepts, an 11,000-square-foot spa and fitness center, two resort-style pools, and approximately 6,000 square feet of indoor meeting spaces, including a 4,000-square-foot event barn.\u00a0<\/p>\n Chef Dominique\u00a0Crenn’s\u00a0signature restaurant<\/p>\n Last Fall, the Waldorf Astoria announced a partnership with TIME 100 honoree Dominique Crenn<\/a>, who is the first female chef in the U.S. to earn all three Michelin stars.<\/p>\n Article continues below this ad<\/p>\n Crenn will head up the signature restaurant at the storied hotel brand’s luxury resort in Fredericksburg, which opens in 2027.<\/p>\n Kimpton’s The\u00a0Meuse, Lucchese Bootmakers, Double D Ranch ,\u00a0Fischer & Wieser Specialty Foods and Padre’s Wine Company<\/p>\n This 22-acre multi-use hotel and retail center<\/a> ramped up construction in 2025, filing construction plans for more than 70,000 square feet of luxury retail projects set to bring new food, fashion and cultural offerings to the “Unofficial Capital of the Texas Hill Country<\/a>.”<\/p>\n Article continues below this ad<\/p>\n The project, slated to open in 2027, will feature luxury brands such as Lucchese Bootmaker, a legacy Texas boot brand; Padre\u2019s Wine Company; Double D Ranch, a luxury Western fashion house; Fischer & Wieser Specialty Foods, which is owned by the same families behind the popular Das Peach Haus stop on U.S. 87; and the Jackson Ballard Gallery, which will showcase a curated collection of American folk art and vintage Southwest works inside a historic Sunday House on the property.<\/p>\n The project also includes a 210-room elegant lifestyle hotel that will \u201cseamlessly extend\u201d Fredericksburg\u2019s downtown charm by \u201cpreserving the natural beauty of the Hill Country\u201d by \u201ccombining local authenticity with luxurious hospitality,\u201d according to a press release.<\/p>\n Fredericksburg Racquet Center<\/p>\n The Fredericksburg Racquet Center<\/a> will be a hub for the community’s “top recreational needs,” bringing eight new tennis courts, eight pickleball courts and walking trails to the city, just south of its touristy downtown area.\u00a0<\/p>\n Article continues below this ad<\/p>\n The new project is intended to create a “welcoming space” for solo sport players and families of all ages and skill levels, according to a news release shared by the nonprofit.\u00a0<\/p>\n Construction work on what could be just the first phase of the 10-acre site will wrap up in late March 2027, according to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.<\/p>\n The Sycamore<\/p>\n The Sycamore<\/a> is another upcoming shopping district coming to the small town. When all is said and done, the 117-acre project, located on Luckenbach Road along the Hwy 290 Wine Trail, will house top-notch shops and restaurants.\u00a0<\/p>\n Article continues below this ad<\/p>\n Salt Lick BBQ<\/p>\n One of those restaurants includes one of Texas’ favorite BBQ spots. A filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation shows that construction on a 9,323-square-foot Salt Lick BBQ restaurant is scheduled for completion by October 2026. The location will feature an adjoining Salt Lick Cellars<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n William Chris Vineyard<\/p>\n William Chris Vineyard<\/a> filed plans to renovate an existing retail space into a wine tasting room.
