EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14) — MVPW-03: Han vs Holm 2 and Serrano vs Hanson is officially the hottest ticket ever at the El Paso County Coliseum.

Most Valuable Promotions announced Saturday morning that the sold out event has generated the highest gate for a combat sports event in the history of the El Paso County Coliseum. MVPW-03 is headlined by El Paso native Stephanie Han taking on former boxing and UFC champion Holly Holm for the WBA Lightweight World Title.

The Coliseum has a rich boxing history. In 1971 it hosted George Foreman’s knockout victory over Vic Scott. Hall of Famers Salvador Sanchez and Erik Morales have fought there. In more recent years it has been the setting for legendary fighter Floyd Mayweather Jr. in his career and in the same year Sugar Shane Mosley’s IBF Title Defense.

“This is a historic moment not only for Most Valuable Promotions, but for El Paso and the local fight fans who have supported this event from day one,” said Jake Paul and Nakisa Bidarian, co-founders of MVP in a press release. “The El Paso County Coliseum has hosted some of the most important names in boxing history, from a young George Foreman and Hall of Famer Salvador Sánchez, to Erik Morales and Sugar Shane Mosley, and later Floyd Mayweather Jr. For MVPW-03 to set a record gate in a venue with this kind of history is a powerful statement about how far women’s boxing has come. Amanda Serrano, Holly Holm, Stephanie Han, and the extraordinary champions featured on this card have accomplished something unprecedented, and we are proud to deliver what is now the highest-grossing combat sports event ever held at this iconic venue.”
