The Dallas County sheriff’s office is investigating a hit-and-run accident early Sunday morning\u00a0that resulted in the death of a motorcycle passenger, according to a statement.<\/p>\n
Deputies responded to\u00a0the incident about 3 a.m.\u00a0near the\u00a0Field Street ramp to northbound Interstate 35.<\/p>\n
Once on scene, investigators determined a motorcycle passenger, who has not yet been identified, had fallen off the motorcycle before being struck by a vehicle. The vehicle fled the scene before deputies arrived.<\/p>\n
Deputies said the passenger was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.<\/p>\n
The Field Street ramp and the connection between I-35 and Woodall Rodgers Freeway were closed during the investigation, the statement said.<\/p>\n
