Clovis, New Mexico police on Saturday arrested a man charged with murder in connection with a deadly shooting the day before in a church parking lot.<\/p>\n
The Clovis Police Department arrested 41-year-old Andrew Robles of Clovis in connection with the shooting death of 43-year-old Daniel Dale Flores of Clovis, which occurred at about 4:20 p.m. May 29 in the parking lot of the Church of Christ in the 1500 block of Pile Street, according to a statement from CPD.<\/p>\n
Robles was booked into the Curry County Detention Center on the following charges:<\/p>\n
\u2022 Count 1: Murder (First Degree Felony) \u2013 Section 30-2-1 NMSA<\/p>\n
\u2022 Count 2: Felon in Possession of a Firearm (Third Degree Felony) \u2013 Section 30-7-16 NMSA<\/p>\n
\u2022 Count 3: Tampering with Evidence (Third Degree Felony) \u2013 Section 30-22-5 NMSA<\/p>\n
During the course of the investigation, detectives identified a person previously depicted in photographs wearing a red shirt whose image was shared on social media.<\/p>\n
“After reviewing surveillance footage and conducting interviews, investigators determined that the individual was not present when the homicide occurred,” reads the statement from CPD. “As a result, no criminal charges are being pursued against him in connection with this incident.”<\/p>\n
Investigators also recovered the firearm believed to have been used in the commission of the crime.<\/p>\n
“The recovery of the weapon, along with surveillance footage, witness statements, forensic evidence, and information provided by members of the public, contributed significantly to the successful resolution of this case,” the statement continues.<\/p>\n
Other information about the circumstances leading to the shooting were not immediately clear as the investigation is ongoing.<\/p>\n
