\t\t\t\t\t\t\tFrom spinal surgery to orthopedic care, Ascension Seton is expanding services at the Southwest campus.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe’re trying to make sure that we’re meeting the needs of the community,\u201d said Dr. Steven Brockman-Weber, Ascension Seton Southwest Hospital<\/a> president.<\/p>\n The big picture<\/p>\n Some changes that have been made over the past few months include:<\/p>\n The addition of a spinal surgeonThe addition of an intermediate care unitUpgraded equipment, such as medical beds and ultrasound technologyIn January, the Southwest campus added an intermediate care unit. Previously, intermediate care was more intensive than the hospital could provide, and patients were transferred to facilities with a higher level of care, such as Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin.<\/p>\n \u201cBeing able to provide that intermediate level [of care], we\u2019ve been able to keep those patients closer to the community,\u201d Brockman-Weber said.<\/p>\n Additionally, surgeon Dr. Dan Peterson joined the Southwest campus in March, allowing the hospital to begin offering spinal surgery.<\/p>\n In case you missed it<\/p>\n In the fall of 2025, Ascension Seton Southwest received an Advanced Knee and Hip Replacement Certification<\/a> from the Joint Commission<\/a>.
