SAN PATRICIO COUNTY, Texas \u2014 A dump truck driver was hospitalized Monday morning after a train collided with the vehicle near Highway 77 in San Patricio County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS).<\/p>\n
DPS said the crash happened around 9:15 a.m. on a private road near the Welder Wildlife area along the northbound side of U.S. Highway 77, south of Edwards Street.<\/p>\n
Authorities said a train struck the dump truck at the crossing.<\/p>\n
The driver of the dump truck was transported to a local hospital for treatment.<\/p>\n
Officials have not released the extent of the driver’s injuries. No other injuries were immediately reported.<\/p>\n
Additional details about what led to the crash have not been released.<\/p>\n
