Summer camps are a fun part of the break for many Lubbock kids, but just in case you still haven’t booked anything for your kiddo, there are still some fantastic options available. Of course, any of these camps can fill up quickly, so if you are interested, be sure to act as soon as possible.<\/p>\n
Music Camps<\/p>\n
School Of Rock (6827 82nd St) still has some limited availability for summer camps for kids 5-7 and 7-12 with no or some musical experience. Kids can learn an instrument like guitar, drums, piano, etc, and learn how to play in a band.\u00a0 Find camps here<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n Dirt City Music Endowment Has Nearly Reached Goal, Here\u2019s How To Help<\/p>\n Read More:\u00a0Scholarships For Accessible Music Education In Lubbock Near Goal<\/a><\/p>\n Theater Camps<\/p>\n LHUCA (511 Avenue K) is offering drama camps for Lubbock teenagers this July, who will put on a production of Beetlejuice Jr Camp information here<\/a>.<\/p>\n Moonlight Musicals offers weekly camps for kids, with each week featuring a different production. You can register here<\/a>. There is also a teen “intensive” course available this summer as well.<\/p>\n Art Camps<\/p>\n There are many art camps available in Lubbock, including through the City of Lubbock<\/a> (generally the most affordable option), but also at LHUCA<\/a>, and\u00a0ArtWork<\/a>. Art camps tend to run week-to-week, making it a flexible option, too. Sports\/ Dance Camps<\/p>\n If you are interested in a sports or dance camp for your child, you may check with the gym you attend first, as they will sometimes offer deals to existing members.\u00a0 Again, the City of Lubbock<\/a> will likely be the most affordable option for any type of sport or dance.<\/p>\n Most small businesses that focus on children’s athletics will have programs still available (except for competitive cheer; those folks are serious, but still ask if you are interested). Think: martial arts, gymnastics, etc.<\/p>\n Ballet Lubbock offers several summer “intensives” depending on age and experience level. Ballet Lubbock is generally for children who are a little more serious about pursuing dance, and some classes can fill up fast\/ require preapproval. More info here<\/a>.<\/p>\n Texas Tech rec center offers summer sports and learn-to-swim camps; find more info here<\/a>. If you are interested in football or other specific sport camps, your best bet is to google “Texas Tech ____ Camp 2026.”<\/p>\n Academic Camps<\/p>\n Texas Tech<\/a> offers many camps in different academic fields and in different departments. Again, my best advice to you is to Google it because I could not find a centralized information page.\u00a0 I am sad to say that Lubbock Lake Landmark has already closed registration, as a kid, that was absolutely my favorite. You can find waitlist information here<\/a>.<\/p>\n Bible Camps<\/p>\n Best bet is to check with your home church; otherwise, there are many across Lubbock, just google “Vacation Bible School” and you’ll have many, many options to choose from based of date range, ages, and your preferred denomination.<\/p>\n A Word of Advice<\/p>\n Focus on what your child is actually interested in, not what you want them to be interested in. I say this as someone who has taught summer art camps, so please don’t make your soccer kid miserable with a paint brush, for example.
