{"id":319581,"date":"2026-06-02T19:30:11","date_gmt":"2026-06-02T19:30:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/319581\/"},"modified":"2026-06-02T19:30:11","modified_gmt":"2026-06-02T19:30:11","slug":"public-proceedings-for-ken-paxtons-divorce-trial-get-canceled-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/319581\/","title":{"rendered":"Public proceedings for Ken Paxton&#8217;s divorce trial get canceled"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>WASHINGTON (TNND) \u2014 The divorce trial between <a href=\"https:\/\/thenationaldesk.com\/news\/nation-world\/what-ken-paxtons-victory-means-for-the-future-of-the-gop-trump-backed-candidate-texas-senate-race-primaries-midterm-election-john-cornyn-republican-national-convention-rnc-chair-joe-gruters-congress\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Texas GOP Attorney General Ken Paxton<\/a> and his wife was canceled after a state district judge canceled the public proceedings.<\/p>\n<p>Collins County judge Lindsey Wynee canceled the proceedings on Tuesday, <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/campaign\/5905922-paxton-divorce-trial-canceled\/?tbref=hp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">according to The Hill newspaper.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Last year, Angela Paxton announced on X that she was divorcing her husband on biblical grounds.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cToday, after 38 years of marriage, I filed for divorce on biblical grounds,\u201d she wrote on X. \u201cI believe marriage is a sacred covenant and I have earnestly pursued reconciliation. But in light of recent discoveries, I do not believe that it honors God or is loving to myself, my children, or Ken to remain in the marriage.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She concluded her post by saying that God was working through the situation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI move forward with complete confidence that God is always working everything together for the good of those who love Him and who are called according to His purpose,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Attorneys for Paxton told The Hill in a statement that both parties \u201cjointly agreed that a trial setting is no longer necessary.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe parties have made substantial progress toward an amicable resolution of all issues and remain engaged in productive discussions,\u201d the attorneys stated. \u201cWe are optimistic that a final agreement will be reached in the near future.\u201dComment with Bubbles<\/p>\n<p>JOIN THE CONVERSATION (1)<\/p>\n<p>Ken Paxton recently won the GOP Senate primary race <a href=\"https:\/\/thenationaldesk.com\/news\/americas-news-now\/senator-cornyn-stands-by-campaign-criticisms-of-ken-paxton-after-gop-republican-primary-runoff-election-loss\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">against incumbent Sen.
