{"id":321493,"date":"2026-06-03T21:31:28","date_gmt":"2026-06-03T21:31:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/321493\/"},"modified":"2026-06-03T21:31:28","modified_gmt":"2026-06-03T21:31:28","slug":"tea-unveils-dashboard-to-show-educator-misconduct-reports-student-protections","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/321493\/","title":{"rendered":"TEA unveils dashboard to show educator misconduct reports, student protections"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14\/CBS4) \u2014 The Texas Education Agency has unveiled two new online tools aimed at increasing transparency and strengthening protections for students across the state: the Educator Misconduct Dashboard and the Student Protection Resource Center.<\/p>\n<p>Announced Tuesday, the new resources provide parents, educators and community members with expanded access to information about educator misconduct investigations, disciplinary actions and student safety guidance.<\/p>\n<p>According to TEA, <a href=\"https:\/\/tea4avcastro.tea.state.tx.us\/edconduct\/reporting.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">The Educator Misconduct Dashboard<\/a> offers an interactive look at misconduct reports submitted to TEA, agency investigations, actions taken by the State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC), and placements on the state&#8217;s Do Not Hire Registry (DNHR). Users can review data related to allegations such as fraud, inappropriate student-educator relationships and other conduct that may threaten student safety or violate professional standards.<\/p>\n<p>Transparency and public trust in our education system are central to ensuring our schools can accomplish their core mission of educating the next generation,\u201d Texas Education Commissioner Mike Morath said in a statement. \u201cThis dashboard and associated resources reflect our commitment to ensuring the safety of all students and the integrity of those privileged to serve in our classrooms.<\/p>\n<p>TEA officials said the dashboard is housed within the newly launched <a href=\"https:\/\/tea.texas.gov\/texas-educators\/student-protection-resource-center\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Student Protection Resource Center<\/a>, a centralized hub designed to provide information and tools related to student safety, educator accountability and disciplinary actions. The site outlines legal responsibilities for reporting suspected misconduct and explains the investigative and disciplinary processes used by TEA and SBEC.<\/p>\n<p>Under Texas law, individuals \u2014 particularly school personnel \u2014 are required to report suspected child abuse or neglect within 24 hours.
