LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Summer season is here, and with temperatures climbing, many families are looking for a place to cool off. While the City of Lubbock doesn\u2019t operate any public pools, there are still several swimming options to have fun in the sun.<\/p>\n
YWCA at Sun \u2018n Fun<\/p>\n
One of these options is the YWCA Sun \u2018n Fun Center<\/a>. They offer individual and family memberships as well as daily rates.<\/p>\n Callie Bryant with YWCA said it has something for all ages.<\/p>\n \u201cWe have a bunch of different areas for kids, infants all the way up to teenagers, so whether they want to play on our splash pad, go down our slide, jump in the pool, or just lounge around and get the rays, we have them here at the sun n fun,\u201d Bryant said.<\/p>\n Seahorse Swimming School<\/p>\n Gavin Fendon is a manager at the Seahorse Swimming School<\/a>. With individual and family memberships available for the summer, he said frequent visits can make the expense a worthwhile summer investment.<\/p>\n \u201cI have families that come here every day, if you don\u2019t come very often, I can understand it being kind of a big price to jump in, but pools around are expensive, it\u2019s tough to keep this palace open,\u201d Fendon said. \u201cYou get the membership, you come every day, you tire your kids out, have fun, eat snacks, go home.\u201d<\/p>\n Creating memories one summer at a time<\/p>\n As another West Texas summer gets underway, local pools hope to provide the same memories for today\u2019s families that so many people grew up making themselves.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen I was a kid it was my hangout spot, and I can\u2019t tell you how much fun I had with my friends jumping in the pool, playing mermaids, seeing who can get the diving stick first, you know just that wholesome family fun,\u201d Bryant said.<\/p>\n Other swimming options in and near LubbockLubbock Water Rampage<\/a> – Located in Lubbock at 6602 Marsha Sharp FreewayPlainview Aquatic Center<\/a> – Located at 16th and Ennis Crosbyton City Pool<\/a> – Located at 800 Aspen StreetLevelland City Pool<\/a> – Located at 1905 Lee StreetLittlefield Aquatic Center<\/a> – Located at 1503 S.
