EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14\/CBS4) \u2014 An 18-year-old from Central El Paso has been arrested after police said he had an illegal 3-D printed gun. <\/p>\n

According to the El Paso Police Department, Raul Paez was arrested on Friday after he was allegedly caught with an illegal 3-D printed handgun following reports of gunfire. <\/p>\n

EPPD said it all started when officers patrolling around the 1900 block of Montana Ave. (near the North Cotton Street intersection), heard gunfire coming from the Scenic Drive overlook. <\/p>\n

Officers said that as they made their way to Scenic Drive, they stumbled upon a Chevrolet Tahoe at the 2500 block of Wheeling Avenue.<\/p>\n

Officers said they spoke with the driver, and after looking into the vehicle, they reportedly found an AR-style rifle, an illegal 3-D printed gun and learned that Paez was the alleged shooter from Scenic Drive. <\/p>\n

RECOMMENDED: Man arrested on murder charge after body found in Central El Paso dumpster fire<\/a><\/p>\n

According to jail records, Paez was booked into the El Paso County Downtown Jail and charged with unlawful carrying of a weapon and discharge of a firearm in certain municipalities, with a bond set at $4,000.<\/p>\n

Jail records show Paez was released from jail Saturday after posting a surety bond. <\/p>\n
