PLANO, Texas \u2014 One person is dead and another is injured after a single-vehicle crash involving a power pole near La Paz Drive and 14th Street In Plano Saturday evening, police say.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Plano Police and Plano Fire-Rescue responded to the crash around 9:30 p.m. Nov. 1.\u00a0<\/p>\n
According to authorities, the driver was traveling southbound on La Paz Drive and attempted to turn left onto eastbound 14th Street. The driver is believed to have accelerated through the turn, causing the vehicle to lose traction, officials say. The driver then overcorrected, causing the vehicle to rotate and collide with a wooden power pole, crews say.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Significant damage was caused to the passenger side of the vehicle, and the passenger was pronounced deceased on scene, police say. Authorities have identified the passenger as 25-year-old Alex Rangle.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The driver was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries, officials say. The driver wasn’t identified.\u00a0<\/p>\n
