Testimony began shortly thereafter at the Collin County courthouse, where Anthony is on trial in the fatal stabbing of Frisco student-athlete Austin Metcalf, 17, at a track meet last year.<\/p>\n<p>The prosecution called their first witness, Mark Porter, a video analyst who works for the Tarrant County District Attorney&#8217;s Office.<\/p>\n<p>Collin County Assistant District Attorney Bill\u00a0Wirskye told jurors during his opening statements that among the first pieces of evidence they will see is surveillance video recorded at the stadium. The video captured the entire incident, Wirskye said, from the moment Anthony stepped under the tent to the moment he ran away after the stabbing.<\/p>\n<p>Wirskye also assured the panel the case is not about race. Nor is it about self-defense, he said. Metcalf was white. Anthony is Black. The case has\u00a0drawn national headlines and invoked racial tension on social media.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The video will tell the story,&#8221; Wirskye said. &#8220;The facts of this case are as simple as this act was senseless.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Lead defense attorney Mike Howard told jurors Anthony stepped under the tent designated for\u00a0Metcalf&#8217;s team because it was raining and he saw a friend there.<\/p>\n<p>Anthony was sitting with his friend and talking with him when Metcalf, his brother and several of their friends approached him and told him to leave, Howard said.
