Jim Randles said in an email. <\/p>\n<p>Assault against a public servant is a third-degree felony punishable by jail time between two and 10 years. Perpetrators may also receive a fine not exceeding $10,000. <\/p>\n<p>Criminal trespass at a higher education institution with a previous conviction is a class A misdemeanor punishable by a fine not to exceed $4,000, up to one year in jail or both. <\/p>\n<p>If the offender has not been previously convicted of trespassing on higher education property, the offense is a class B misdemeanor punishable by a fine not to exceed $2,000, confinement in jail of up to 180 days, or both. <\/p>\n<p>Resisting arrest, search or transport is a class A misdemeanor punishable by a fine not to exceed $4,000, up to one year in jail or both. <\/p>\n<p>Possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance in penalty group 2, and possession of drug paraphernalia <\/p>\n<p>On May 30, a UTA student was arrested at the Heights on Pecan Apartments parking lot for possession of controlled substances and marijuana, Randles said. <\/p>\n<p>Possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, in which the substance is two ounces or less, is a class B misdemeanor punishable by a fine not exceeding $2,000, up to 180 days in jail or both. <\/p>\n<p>Possession of a controlled substance in penalty group 2, in which the substance is one gram or more but less than four grams, is a third-degree felony punishable by jail time between two and 10 years. Perpetrators may also receive a fine not exceeding $10,000. <\/p>\n<p>Criminal trespass and criminal mischief causing substantial inconvenience <\/p>\n<p>On May 24, two non-affiliated juveniles damaged UTA property inside the Life Science Building, Randles said.
