El Paso, Texas (KFOX14\/CBS4) \u2014 Boxing will return to the El Paso County Coliseum on July 18 when Ring Wars 23 brings a card packed with local fighters back to the Borderland.<\/p>\n
A press conference was held on Tuesday at Charlie Clark Nissan and Infiniti to introduce the lineup of fighters scheduled to compete in July. Among the familiar names on the card are Jorge \u201cEl Jaguar\u201d Tovar, Nayeli \u201cLa Bikina\u201d Rodriguez, Pedro “El Pantera” Rodarte, and Dominic \u201cCan\u2019t Stop Dom\u201d Barry.<\/p>\n
El Paso native Victor Aranda is also set to fight. Aranda is 7-0 with six knockouts early in his career and will face fellow up-and-comer Elijah Martinez, who enters at 7-1. Aranda said he is focusing on conditioning ahead of the matchup.<\/p>\n
\u201cRight now, I\u2019m just going to concentrate more on my strength and conditioning because I know my opponent has a lot of experience,\u201d Aranda said.<\/p>\n
He added, \u201cWell, based on my experience from past fights, it’s never enough conditioning for a fight. So we always want more because you want to be secure. You know, if I. If my opponent is very tough, I need to be tougher.\u201d<\/p>\n
Other matchups on the card include undefeated Jorge \u201cEl Jaguar\u201d Tovar against Ulices Tovar Rivera, whose nickname is \u201cEl Toro.\u201d<\/p>\n
Rodriguez, the UBO Intercontinental lightweight champion of the world, is scheduled to face Albuquerque\u2019s Brandi Montoya.<\/p>\n
Barry is still awaiting an opponent for his bout.<\/p>\n
