{"id":324136,"date":"2026-06-05T14:08:08","date_gmt":"2026-06-05T14:08:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/324136\/"},"modified":"2026-06-05T14:08:08","modified_gmt":"2026-06-05T14:08:08","slug":"texas-oil-ceo-josh-cohen-arrested-accused-of-organized-crime","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/324136\/","title":{"rendered":"Texas oil CEO Josh Cohen arrested, accused of organized crime"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Law enforcement officials in Texas and New York arrested <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mrt.com\/business\/oil\/article\/vision-oil-gas-texas-permian-acquisition-22085557.php\" data-link=\"native\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">Josh Cohen of Vision Oil &amp; Gas<\/a> on Friday, charging the Texas oilfield executive with theft and engaging in organized crime, Reeves County District Attorney Sarah Stogner said.<\/p>\n<p>Stogner, whose West Texas office assisted in the arrest in Nassau County, New York, said her team investigated the case involving over $300,000 in stolen services.<\/p>\n<p>She began investigating the case after alleged victims shared their experiences online.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere&#8217;s a fine line in the boom-or-bust industry \u2026 between good faith, \u2018got in over your head\u2019, and a con man,\u201d Stogner said. \u201cIf you commit crime in my counties and try to defraud my constituents, we will investigate you, and we will go arrest you, no matter where you are, regardless of county lines or state lines.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cohen lives in New York but operates in the Permian Basin.
