CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas \u2014 A new exhibit honoring Corpus Christi icon Ronnie “Pointy Boots” Mathis is now on display at the Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History.<\/p>\n
The exhibit features personal items on loan from Mathis’ family and close friends, giving visitors a closer look at the man known for his colorful personality, creative expression, and longtime presence around the city.<\/p>\n
Among the items on display are Mathis’ bicycle, suits, jacket and rings. Museum officials said the collection includes some of his most personal belongings and offers a unique glimpse into his life and legacy.<\/p>\n
Clare Sepulveda, the museum’s collections registrar, said the items were provided by family members and friends who wanted to help preserve Mathis’ story for future generations.<\/p>\n
According to the museum, the exhibit took several months to organize and will remain on display for at least six months.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Additional items may be rotated into the exhibit during that time.<\/p>\n
Sepulveda said Mathis was widely recognized throughout Corpus Christi and inspired many people to embrace their individuality.<\/p>\n
Museum staff is encouraging visitors to stop by the exhibit and share their favorite memories of Mathis while learning more about his impact on the community.<\/p>\n
