{"id":324742,"date":"2026-06-05T22:44:47","date_gmt":"2026-06-05T22:44:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/324742\/"},"modified":"2026-06-05T22:44:47","modified_gmt":"2026-06-05T22:44:47","slug":"distracted-semi-driver-triggers-six-vehicle-pileup-on-i-10-near-texas-new-mexico-line","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/324742\/","title":{"rendered":"Distracted semi driver triggers six-vehicle pileup on I-10 near Texas-New Mexico line"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ANTHONY, TEXAS (KFOX14\/CBS4) \u2014 A chain-reaction crash involving a semi tractor-trailer and five other vehicles temporarily shut down westbound Interstate 10 near the Texas-New Mexico state line on Tuesday morning.<\/p>\n<p>Emergency responders were dispatched at about 7 a.m. to a major motor vehicle accident on I-10 westbound at Mile Marker 1 near the state line. <\/p>\n<p>A preliminary investigation found that westbound traffic was slowing because of a stalled vehicle near the state line when a distracted semi tractor-trailer driver failed to stop in time, triggering a crash involving six vehicles total, including the commercial motor vehicle, Anthony police officials said. <\/p>\n<p>No injuries were reported.<\/p>\n<p>Westbound lanes of I-10 were temporarily closed while emergency personnel investigated and coordinated the removal of the vehicles.
