{"id":324789,"date":"2026-06-05T23:16:08","date_gmt":"2026-06-05T23:16:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/324789\/"},"modified":"2026-06-05T23:16:08","modified_gmt":"2026-06-05T23:16:08","slug":"texas-south-plains-honor-flight-golf-tournament-set-for-august","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/324789\/","title":{"rendered":"Texas South Plains Honor Flight golf tournament set for August"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text | article-text\">LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) &#8211; The Texas South Plains Honor Flight will hold its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.texassouthplainshonorflight.org\/golf-tournament\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.texassouthplainshonorflight.org\/golf-tournament\">14th annual golf tournament<\/a> Aug. 10 at LakeRidge Country Club.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The tournament is one of the major fundraisers for the organization, which honors local veterans by taking them to Washington, D.C. to visit monuments, memorials and museums built in their honor. Instead of only a morning tournament flight limited to 38 teams, organizers will offer both morning and afternoon tournament flights with 32 teams per flight.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cWe feel like that will expedite play a little bit and won\u2019t be as much time, actually, on the golf course,\u201d said David Dabbs with the organization.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Registration is open on the organization\u2019s website at <a href=\"https:\/\/TexasSouthPlainsHonorFlight.org\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/TexasSouthPlainsHonorFlight.org\" target=\"_blank\">TexasSouthPlainsHonorFlight.org<\/a> . Sponsorship levels include major sponsors at $2,500, which includes a four-player team and recognition, including a banner displayed at the course. Four-player teams are $600, or $800 with hole sponsorship and recognition at a tee box. Hole sponsorship only is $300.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The tournament will also feature honor flags for sale. The U.S. flags are the size of flags used on the golf course and can be embroidered with a veteran\u2019s name, rank and service branch. The flags honor active duty, retired or deceased service members and are displayed on the course during the tournament. Purchasers can take the flags home after the event.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The tournament includes snacks, drinks and meals, as well as an opportunity to participate in a raffle for various prizes.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 KCBD.
