VICTORIA, Texas – The Texas A&M Coastal Bend Health Education Center is preparing to host events throughout the month of November as part of Diabetes Awareness Month.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The center provides free health education courses on symptoms and illness management for those with pre-diabetes and Type 2 diabetes.<\/p>\n
Registered Nurse and Certified Educator Hilda Ramirez says with proper education and healthy lifestyle changes, people with diabetes can manage the impact from the disease.<\/p>\n
The CBHEC is planning a 5k walk and run to raise funds and awareness for the free diabetes education provided to local residents.<\/p>\n
Diabetes Awareness Month was created in 1975, intended on helping educate and support the affected public.
