Slated for future discussion.

Bond Proposition B: Parks and recreation improvement. Estimated public art funding is $3.14 million.

Fort Worth Water Gardens, downtown. Its visitor draw could be augmented by public art.
Rolling Hills Athletic Complex, southeast Fort Worth. It could be a major complex for traveling and specialty teams.
North Z Boaz Park Aquatics Facility, west side. Facilities could rival those at Forest Park.
Gateway Park, east side. Gateway offers opportunities for a multi-sculpture area and a regional draw.
Buck Sansom Park, northwest Fort Worth. Its proximity to an elementary school could be useful.
Trinity Park, west side.
Glenwood Park, southeast Fort Worth. Public art could further development of a partnership with the TCU School of Nursing.
Atatiana Carr-Jefferson Community Center, southeast Fort Worth. The old Hillside Community Center will get a new facility.
Meadowbrook Golf Course, east side. The city is renovating the clubhouse and community space; this municipal facility has no artwork.

Bond Proposition C: Libraries. Project candidates are the Fort Worth History Center, which is being relocated; Diamond Hill/Jarvis Library, which will be renovated; and the Southwest Regional Library. Estimated public art funding is $286,000.

Bond Proposition E: Candidates are the city’s Emergency Operations Center, which is being renovated, and a possible new parking garage. Other likely candidates are Fire Stations #40 and #46. Estimated public art funding is $1.25 million.

Bond Proposition F: Animal control center. Estimated public art funding is $1,174,000.

Anne Allen, public art program manager for Arts Fort Worth, emphasized that Fort Worth Public Art programs will continue to recruit local Fort Worth artists. The city’s art commission, appointed by the city council, oversees implementation of the city’s public art master plan.

Fort Worth Art Commission Retreat

Documenter: Denise Kahn

Date: May 16, 2026

Learn more about this retreat by clicking here.
