Dance announced her departure in an April 30 “Big Life Update” video posted to social media. Her final day at FOX 45 was May 29.<\/p>\n

“A lot of you may not know that I was actually born and raised here in Maryland,” Dance said in the video, calling her return home to work at FOX 45 a “full circle moment.”<\/p>\n

Reflecting on her time in Baltimore, Dance said the city and the people she covered helped shape both her career and her life. She thanked her colleagues for making the station’s early-morning shifts easier and said she felt fortunate to spend nearly four years telling stories in her home state.<\/p>\n

But she said it was time for a new chapter.<\/p>\n

“I’m so excited to announce that I will be moving to Texas to join the FOX 26 Houston team<\/a> as a reporter,” Dance said. “As one of the largest and most diverse cities in the country, Houston has so many incredible stories to tell.”<\/p>\n

Dance said the decision to leave Maryland was difficult but one that challenged her to grow, take risks and “chase what’s next.”<\/p>\n

The video ended with a nod to her new home. After thanking Baltimore, Dance placed a cowboy hat on her head and added: “Houston, I’m ready for y’all. The best stories are still ahead.”<\/p>\n

Dance joined FOX 45 in July 2022. Before Baltimore, she worked as a multimedia journalist at FOX Buffalo’s\u00a0WNYO beginning in June 2021. She previously spent two years reporting for CNY Central’s NBC3, CBS6 and CW6 stations in Syracuse, N.Y.<\/p>\n

Originally from the Maryland suburbs of Washington, D.C., Dance graduated from the University of Alabama with a double major in news media and communication studies. While in college, she interned for three years at WVUA 23 News in Tuscaloosa, Ala., where she started behind the scenes in production and editing before moving into an on-air multimedia journalist role.<\/p>\n

The summer before her senior year, she interned with FOX News in New York City and later served as a FOX News campus ambassador.<\/p>\n
