While the tale is hilarious, it\u2019s sadly a fake. But that didn\u2019t stop the internet from having a field day.<\/p>\n

According to the Twitter rumor machine, Ramirez embodied the male alter ego \u201cL.J. Ramirez\u201d to win the fictional Lone Star Men\u2019s Smoke-Off in the Texas \u2018cue capital of Lockhart. The viral story even alleges she took home $7,500 for the succulence of her brisket, ribs, and sausage before getting busted.<\/p>\n

Busted for what crime, you may ask? <\/p>\n

The original tweet circulated by @Theveripost just says \u201cTexas woman arrested for \u2018Disguised as a Man.’\u201d Last we checked, that wasn\u2019t a crime. However, that cheap Party City mustache might be.<\/p>\n

The story racked up millions of views, eliciting comments like \u201cfree my man\u201d and \u201cclose enough, welcome back Mulan.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cControversial opinion but I don\u2019t think people should go to jail for objectively funny crimes,\u201d one commenter posted.<\/p>\n

Only a few in the thread actually thought to question what the crime in fact was \u2014\u00a0or whether the story was even true.<\/p>\n

Both the image and the story are AI-generated. <\/p>\n
