EL PASO, Texas (KTSM<\/a>) \u2014 A judge has denied bond for a 31-year-old woman after she allegedly stabbed a family member in Sunland Park on Monday, June 1, according to documents obtained by KTSM 9 News.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors in New Mexico are pressing an attempted first-degree murder charge against Sarai Ortiz among other charges.<\/p>\n

On Thursday, June 4, Ortiz had a detention hearing, in which her bond for five charges was denied. She is also being charged with tampering with evidence, and three counts of aggravated battery against a household member with a deadly weapon.<\/p>\n

On June 1 along the 100 block of 105 Loma Vista, Ortiz allegedly stabbed a household member with a kitchen knife and \u201cintended\u201d to injure the victim, according to documents.<\/p>\n

Ortiz also allegedly attempted to get rid or hide the kitchen knife used in the incident.<\/p>\n

According to court records, Ortiz is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing for her arraignment on Thursday, June 18, at the Las Cruces District Court.<\/p>\n
