From upgraded roadways and sidewalks to enhanced lighting and traffic technology, Arlington continues to make significant infrastructure improvements that will support visitors during the FIFA World Cup 2026\u2122 and benefit residents for years to come.<\/p>\n
The City has completed several projects throughout the Entertainment District aimed at improving mobility, pedestrian safety and overall accessibility. Many of the enhancements were accelerated in preparation for the World Cup, but City officials say the improvements are part of a long-term investment in Arlington’s infrastructure.<\/p>\n
One of the most significant roadway projects completed was a mill and overlay of Randol Mill Road between Cooper Street and Collins Street, improving a key corridor serving the Entertainment District.<\/p>\n
The City has also expanded pedestrian connectivity through multiple phases of the Entertainment District Sidewalk Project.<\/p>\n

\nRoad to Six Flags: Magic Mile Street to Directors Drive
\nRoad to Six Flags: Bowling Pin Sculpture parking lot to Six Flags Drive
\nMagic Mile Street: KC Landscape parking lot to Road to Six Flags
\nDirectors Drive: Arlington Downs Road to Road to Six Flags

In addition to roadway and sidewalk projects, Arlington has upgraded street and pedestrian lighting throughout the Entertainment District and completed improvements to traffic signal infrastructure to enhance safety and improve traffic operations.<\/p>\n
While these improvements will help accommodate the large crowds expected during the FIFA World Cup 2026\u2122, the investments will serve Arlington long after the final match. From safer sidewalks and improved lighting to upgraded streets and traffic signals, residents will continue to benefit from the enhanced infrastructure for years to come.<\/p>\n
