The Dallas Cowboys<\/a> and the rest of the NFL will turn their attention toward the trade deadline this week as teams look to buy and\/or sell players.<\/p>\n

The trade deadline will fall on Tuesday, Nov. 4, so there should be some action over the next few days as teams look to bolster their rosters or acquire more draft capital.<\/p>\n

The Cowboys deadline needs are very clear. While Dallas sports one of the best offenses in the NFL, it also has one of the worst defenses.<\/p>\n

Dallas could use help all over, with positions such as defensive line, edge rusher, linebacker and cornerback all in play.<\/p>\n

“If there is a trade that would help the defense, we’re in position to make that trade,” Jerry Jones said last month,\u00a0via the team\u2019s official website<\/a>. “[It] doesn’t mean we’re going to make one, but we certainly had in mind when we started this season that we were going to have ammo to be more flexible in terms of what we do with the roster as we move along this year, and of course as we get into the next couple of years.”<\/p>\n

Cowboys among teams being aggressive<\/p>\n

According to FOX Sports’ Jay Glazer<\/a>, the Cowboys are among the teams considered to be “aggressive” ahead of the trade deadline.<\/p>\n

“The\u00a0(Chicago) Bears<\/a>, the\u00a0(San Francisco) 49ers<\/a>, the\u00a0(Dallas) Cowboys\u00a0\u2026 and the\u00a0(Philadelphia) Eagles<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 they’re being aggressive, as well. I don’t think you’re gonna see any big names. \u2026 The\u00a0(New England) Patriots<\/a>\u00a0are looking for a little pass rush help,” Glazer reported on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Mazi Smith available<\/p>\n

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport<\/a>, the Cowboys “appear to be open to trading” former first-round pick and defensive lineman Mazi Smith.<\/p>\n

“Dallas also appears to be open to trading 2023 first-round DT\u00a0Mazi Smith, who has only played in five games this season,” Rapoport said.<\/p>\n
