{"id":333197,"date":"2026-06-12T04:54:04","date_gmt":"2026-06-12T04:54:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/333197\/"},"modified":"2026-06-12T04:54:04","modified_gmt":"2026-06-12T04:54:04","slug":"2-killed-6-year-old-boy-seriously-injured-in-crash-on-fm-1585-near-hwy-62-82-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/333197\/","title":{"rendered":"2 killed, 6-year-old boy seriously injured in crash on FM 1585 near Hwy 62\/82"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text | article-text\">LUBBOCK COUNTY, Texas (KCBD) \u2014 Two people were killed and a 6-year-old boy was seriously injured in a head-on crash Thursday on FM 1585 in Lubbock County, authorities said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The two-vehicle crash was reported at 11:34 a.m. at the intersection of FM 1585 and County Road 1100.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Investigators said an SUV, driven by 49-year-old Joseph Ellis was traveling eastbound on FM 1585 as a pickup traveled westbound toward the intersection. For unknown reasons, the SUV crossed into the westbound lane and collided head-on with the pickup, authorities said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Ellis and his passenger, 49-year-old Gina Ganaway, were pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">A 6-year-old boy riding in the SUV was taken to UMC with serious injuries.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The pickup driver suffered minor injuries.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The crash remains under investigation.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 KCBD.
